We have recently added cookies to our range of confections and we’d like to share our recipe for these decadent cookies.



  • 10 oz plain flour
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 3 oz castor sugar
  • 3 oz butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2.5 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 medium egg (beaten)



Sift the flour and baking powder in a big bowl.  Add sugar and mix. Add in the diced butter and rub this into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.  Make a well in the middle add the golden syrup and the egg.  Mix  this and form a dough ball.  Wrap in cling film and let it rest for 20 minutes.  Heat the oven to 180 degrees celcius.   

With help of a little flour, roll the dough out into 5mm thick rough circle.  Using cutters, stamp out the desired shapes and bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.  Keep on the tray for a further 3 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool
